The aim of this impact series is to lift up and center Black, Indigenous, and people of colors’ stories of both positive and undesirable maternal health and birth experiences in order to: amplify local stories from our constituents (Black mamas, women of color, trans folks of color and Indigenous mamas), to broaden awareness of maternal health disparities in Oregon, create urgency among state decision-makers to prioritize bold investments in improving maternal and infant health solutions, and engage and catalyze leadership of birthing people to advocate at local and state levels of government, and in community health systems for long- term institutional and policy change.
